Mayor Reports Streets Are Vandalized
A local mayor filed a complaint with law enforcement personnel last week after he discovered someone had vandalized a city street.
Anthony Purser, Mayor of Iron City, filed the complaint with deputies of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday.
Purser reported that someone had dug two ditches across Cedar Bluff Road, rendering the street impassable.
Purser reported that the vandalism had taken place sometime between the hours of 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4, and 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8. He estimated the cost of fixing the damaged street to be $500.
